I like Tom Campbell’s take on all this (My Big Toe). Awful title, great book.

We are heavily partitioned ‘beings’. This allows ‘movement’, interaction and novel way of putting things together; A creative process.

But ‘movement’ is an illusion. We already have our finger in all the pies. ‘Travelling’ out of the body into another realm is just the breaking down of a partition and a change in the focus of the observer. We are not going anywhere as we are there already.

Like in a dream. There is no movement, just changes of focus and association. The dream may present us with the illusion of movement to present the symbol of a search or fleeing from our fears or demonstrating a transition between symbols.
