I think you are on to something. These comedians are funny because their honesty gives us a ‘shock’. Honesty being such a rare commodity in the public arena.

I’m sure you’ve mentioned previously that you don’t think much of Russell Brand, but i would definitely take a look at his stand up shows on Netflix before fully making up you mind. He is a narcissistic extrovert who has done a good deal of soul searching. His routine is clever, vulgar and energetic. Our family really enjoyed them. There’s his ‘Messiah Complex’ tour from 2013 and ‘Re-Birth’ tour from 2018

Also James Acaster is another fave of ours. He has a series of standups he’s titled ‘repertoire’ on Netflix.
