In time we can become like sealed units. The amount of information getting through has been reduced to the bare minimum for function. And the only ‘data’ that can break through are the strongest most jarring or appealing, polarising input/triggers.

The palate has become dull and nuance lost; A living hell of churning self reflection.

In order for ‘input’ to affect us we need to tie it to an ‘emotion’. As you point out, it is probably not wise to have so fine a mesh that your net catches everything. A lot of ‘information’ only needs witnessing and throwing back.

‘Emptiness’ seems a bit stark though and i’m a bit of a collector! The emotion we use to claim stuff that floats our way doesn't need to be overly ‘primary’.

My preference is that certain ‘bitter-sweetness’; It has something of a mix of the sentimental, longing, desire and the melancholic. I like your term, ‘the wine for mind’.
