The Major Arcana definitely lend themselves to way-markers on a journey.

I quite like Oswald Wirth’s take on this. Here’s an ‘article’ based on his ideas:

There is a splitting into polarities. Two journeys through the tarot; one mirrors the other.

Active and Passive.

I must have been on a roll, as I also wrote about the Tarot as it relates to the branching process (Out of the one, come the many)

This is a fractal pattern, occurring across all scales. The beginning point at one scale is the end point of a more encompassing scale and the end point is, conversely, the beginning of another pattern at a smaller scale.

The passive force ‘blindly’ cascades down from the singular into diversity. The spiritual journey is the opposite of this; It is the active force, ‘against nature’; A turning around and swimming against the current.
