This transition business is definitely a little crazy. It’s almost like the work of some master magician, bent on misdirecting us. We are always lulled into looking away just at the crucial moment and when we do manage to muster up the wherewithal to look back, we find out it has become a done deal and we’re already there.
I suppose transitions are not so much heralded by an event, but by a change in atmosphere. This is the ‘slow boiling of the frog’. There was a point where it was still possible to back out and return home, but by the time you realise that, it’s already too late.
