We should realise that, if our reality is simulated, then constraints and restrictions, like the maximum speed of light and space-time itself, are most likely just a set of parameters devised for the simulation.

The theory that we are living in some sort of simulated reality has become scientifically, a relative orthodoxy now.

We still appear to be very locked in by what we can conceive though.

Many seem to envisage the ‘mother world’; The world from which our ‘simulated’ reality springs, as very much like our own.

Technologically advanced civilizations are discussed; Much like us, living in space-time, running experimental simulations.

Hell! We even imagine these would-be world builders as being our own future selves, running historical simulations! (because we are that ‘freaking’ interesting!)

‘We are getting there.’ Our own beloved science has already shared with us how mind-bogglingly empty, seemingly solid matter is.

We have the well known image that, if we could squeeze out all the space from the atoms in all the people of the world, then we could fit the entire human race into the volume of a sugar cube!

We still cling to the notion that at least the nucleus at the core of the atom is ‘solid’; But really, as we go deeper inside the protons and neutrons that make up the core, things just keep getting stranger.

We stop talking about things that ‘exist’ and instead must speak of ‘quantum fields’ and probabilities.

We are now aware that quantum fields react differently depending on how they are observed and that it is completely impossible to observe ANY particle without disrupting or destroying it.

if we extrapolate our scientific progress, it is becoming apparent that the ratio of “stuff” to “space” is trending toward zero.

That matter is most likely just data. And the forces that cause us to experience matter the way we do, are just rules about how data interacts with itself.
