Yes, it certainly makes the most sense to begin any ‘work’ from the baseline of the unconscious and conscious mind being derived from the physical brain. At least this would allow some sort of experimental consensus to be built. I seem to warm to the opposite notion though; probably because it appears to offer more ‘freedom’. I do realise, however, that such a statement carries no weight and is difficult to ‘make use of’ in the ‘outer world’.

I am a bit undisciplined and put off by the grind of rigour and fine details. I tend to read a lot and see what sticks; ‘Developing’ a lot of broad, wooly connections and hunches. Medium is really useful because it allows me to at least mould a rudimentary form that can be shared. What I write about is not new or revelatory of course, but at least I have taken it in and ‘processed’ it.

It seems to me that science and ‘mysticism’ are heading in the same direction, but from totally different starting points, Two polarities mining a tunnel from opposite sides of the mountain.

Hopeless scientists are lost in reason, hopeless mystics are lost in chaos.

(Hopeful scientists have an eye on chaos, hopeful mystics have an eye on reason)

The mystery of what ‘does and does not jump from the unconscious to the conscious’ is very intriguing. I feel there is a notion of ‘ripeness’ here. There does seem to be a ‘time’ for certain new ideas. New discoveries and ideas often seem to spring up simultaneously at various different places around the world. It feels as though consciousness must be prepared and primed before any ingress from the unconscious can gain traction.Consciousness to me seems like a ‘building ground’.

Not just any old thing can come through from the unconscious. The way must be paved. What has been built (the conscious mind) must remain self-consistent (within certain parameters) or else it will topple. (or be swept away in a flood)

Currently we seem to be in a more ‘malleable’ time, and the self-consistency of our reality is under a little strain. It might be just a matter of taking a bit of ownership of the extra ‘sh!t’ (projections) coming through, rather that externalising it as an ‘invasion of demons’. Who knows?

I will definitely look at the links to your other stories next month when I get access to another three.

but maybe he was one of many who mistook his own madness for a model of reality.

We can put PKD in there also. I must admit, i do like the density of ideas in this ‘madness’. You get more ‘bang for your buck’, the only danger is that too much of it might stick!

The novel Blindsight looks really interesting. I will definitely take a look and it’s on creative commons licence too!
