You are on the ball as ever ;-) I have always had a weakness for this sort of stuff. RPGs, heroes, myth and magic. It is definitely a diversion to the matter at hand, but i’m sure there are worse. (Is that a defence?) :-)

I think my natural proclivity for escapism coupled with growing up with ‘the magic faraway tree’ skewed me a little. Lol

I have always enjoyed reading slightly contrary, quirky writers who weave a bit of darkness with the light.

Rest assured though, i do realise such things are an overlay. A custom GUI that gives me a warm nostalgic feeling. Like the smoke and flickering light of the camp fire in the forest clearing.
